Critique by M. Cathy Helmes:
Factual, yet hilarious…that’s C. Bruce Wells’ book, What
Middle-Aged Men Want From Women. The book is an easy read
packed with gripping truths regarding what men want from women.
Wells’ humor keeps a reader’s interest and it’s nearly impossible to
set the book aside after thumbing through it. Every woman should
read Wells’ book if she’s truly interested in studying and
understanding the male ego. Men should read it, too, and give a copy
to their wives or girlfriends. As humorous as Wells’ book is,
extensive research went into it. The bottom line is that the voices
of men needed to be heard and Wells has given men a public venue
with his book. Women no longer have to scratch their heads and
wonder what men are all about. All they have to do is read Wells’
book. I found Chapter 6, “How To Communicate With Your Man So He
Understands” (beginning on page 42) of relevant interest. If a woman
doesn’t have the know-how to communicate with a man, she might as
well give up the ghost. Wells spells it out for women in a precise
manner. After reading Wells’ book, a lot of couples will experience
enhanced relationships in many ways beginning with the ability to
just lighten up and laugh once in a while. Wells, a journalist and
15-year-columnist, wears many hats and has lived an intriguing life
thus far including being a bodyguard. I’ve met the man, had him sign
a copy of his book for me, and can tell you that he is a personable,
charming guy with a smile that draws you in. His writing style will
leave you begging for more and that’s a promise.
